Scottish Parliament Debates Fair Trade
On Wednesday 3 March 2010 Members of Scottish Parliament took part in a Members Debate on Fairtrade Fortnight. Leading up to this, 60 MSPs signed motion S3M-5768, introduced by Bill Butler MSP, which secured the debate, in which fourteen MSPs from all parties took part.

The Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Fair Trade was officially convened at a meeting following the debate. The Scottish Fair Trade Forum serves as the secretariat to the group, which will focus on practical ways in which the Scottish Parliament can purchase fairly traded products and promote fair trade and Scotland's work to become the world's second Fair Trade Nation.
