For classroom teachers - understand the amazing impact Fairtrade can have directly from a cocoa farmer who is part of the movement!
To mark #FairtradeFortnight, Scottish teachers are invited to join us for this one off session with a focus on cocoa, the special role women farmers play in the journey to living incomes, and the chance to discover new tools and resources perfect for exploring Fairtrade the classroom.
In the UK, we're removed from the process of how things are produced, which is part of the challenge when it comes to getting a better deal for the millions of farmers and workers whose voices aren’t heard in conventional trade. Hearing first hand experiences is one of the most powerful ways to bring this connection to life.
If everyone could meet a farmer and appreciate who is behind each bar of chocolate we enjoy, the job of Fairtrade might already be done. This is a one-off chance for teachers to meet someone at the very centre of the Fairtrade movement and to use the learning to empower young people to make ethical and sustinable choices with the products they buy.
