Carrying the torch for Fair Trade

Angela Oakley (pictured right) carried the Olympic torch through Barrmill village in North Ayrshire on 8 June 2012 on its progress through the UK. Angela, a schools volunteer with the Scottish Fair Trade Forum, was nominated for the honour following her work promoting Fair Trade and local peace and justice causes. With her help, East Dunbartonshire became one of the UK's first Fair Trade Zones in 2007. She is currently working on a project to increase the sale of Fairtrade cotton school wear.
