Countdown to the Fair Trade Festival - Programme Announced

The Fair Trade Festival in Perth is shaping up to include an exciting line up of activities and perfomrances.  The event will open its door from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 7 September at the Station Hotel in Perth.

Fair Trade Marketplace

10am-4pm –  

Stalls Market

The main marketplace will be full of over forty different stalls all day, selling a range of Fair Trade goods, delicious food, and handmade crafts, and providing information on different organisations and campaigns

Linking Hands photo project

Have your photo taken and be part of a project linking Fair Trade supporters across the country together

Festival Sculpture project

Join in with an exciting inflatable sculpture project to celebrate Fair Trade in Scotland

Face painting

Prize draw

Every hour on the hour from 11am-3pm there will be a prize draw! Hold on to your raffle tickets for a chance to win some Fair Trade goodies

Elen Jones, National Co-ordinator, from the world’s first Fair Trade Nation speaks about their experiences

The premiere of a short film marking the achievement of Fair Trade Nation status produced by Forth Valley College

1.00pm –             Nursery activity

A fun sing-along activity for nursery aged children facilitated by the East Dunbartonshire Fair Trade Nurseries Project, featuring a Fair Trade story and Fair Trade rice shakers!

1.15pm –             St Elizabeth’s Primary School

Students from St. Elizabeth’s Primary School, Hamilton, perform their very own Fair Trade rap!

1.30pm –             Tom Morton’s “Fairly Good Show”

Music and conversation from Tom Morton, reflecting on his “Fairly Long Cycle Ride” last year

2.30pm –             Bake-off prize giving

The winner of the Fair Trade Bake-off is announced

2.45pm –             Fairtrade Foundation

Hear from Director of Policy and Public Affairs, Barbara Crowther

The Scottish Government Minister for External Affairs and International Development speaks on the importance of supporting Fair Trade, and how we develop Fair Trade policy in Scotland

Awards will be presented to the winning nominees in each category from various organisations and areas of the Fair Trade Movement

3.45pm –             Film screening
