Fairtrade Fortnight 2015 is here! For the next two weeks the Scottish Fair Trade Forum have organised, and are supporting, numerous events throughout the country. If you would like to see some of the events that are on have a look at our events page. Fairtrade Fortnight serves as an opportunity to promote Fairtrade products and encourage people to support it.
During week 1 we will be welcoming some of our visiting Fair Trade producers who will be attending several events throughout the country, from schools and community events to the Scottish Parliament. They will be speaking at these events to discuss their personal experiences with Fair Trade, and the positive impact it has on their lives and the lives of their community. If you would like to read more about the visiting producers click here,
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight our Instagram account is being used to post photos from all the events that are on during the producer tours. We also ask that people tweet/post their photos with the hashtag #fairtradenation with the best one being shared on our timelines every day. At the end of Fairtrade Fortnight 2015 there will be an overall winner who will win a prize. For more details click here.
There is also a #FairForWomen Twitter campaign on the 6th March. It is a celebration of both International Women's Day and Fairtrade Fortnight. We are hoping that the campaign will get people thinking and discussing about the ways in which Fair Trade, women's rights, and sustainable development are connected.
