1. When did you first find out about Fair Trade?
I first found out about Fair Trade in 2004 when I joined my local Justice and Peace Group in Milton.
2. Why do you think Fair Trade is important?
I believe it is as important for consumers as it is for producers, because it gives a trustworthy accreditation to allow consumers to buy ethically. I think Trade enriches our lives and that trade should be ethical and sustainable.
3. What are you doing for Fairtrade Fortnight?
I am encouraging local schools to switch to Fairtrade cotton school uniforms, and I'm pleased that parents are voting overwhelmingly in some schools to have a Fairtrade cotton school uniform. I was also glad to see the motion in Parliament about workers in the electronics industry supply chains, and asking MSPs to support it and encouraging people to sign the SumOfUs petition about the Scottish Government affiliation to Electronics Watch.
