The Scottish Fair Trade Forum (Forum) works to maintain Scotland's Fair Trade Nation status by raising awareness and increasing public knowledge of Fair Trade. We engage with all sectors of society to raise this awareness, develop demand and support Fair Trade work here in Scotland.
The Forum is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our members, supporters and other subscribers. In this privacy notice, we provide information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
We do not sell or trade email lists or contact details with other organisations and businesses.

What personal data do we hold?
For members we hold the personal data (address, telephone numbers and email addresses) that you have supplied and consented to us using when you join the Forum and you have subsequently given to us to update our records. We will hold this data for the period of your membership and will delete it no longer than one year after your membership lapses or within 20 working days if you request it.
For subscribers to our mailing list, we hold the personal data that you supply when you subscribe and consented to us using to contact you. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org If you request to be unsubscribed, you will immediately no longer receive emails from us and all of your personal information will be removed from our records within 20 working days.
For members of organisations/groups of which the Forum acts as secreatary, we hold the personal data (address, telephone numbers and email addreses) that you have supplied and consented to us using as secretary of the organisation/group and you that you have supplied and consented to us using when you join the organisation/group and you have subsequently given to us to update our records. We will hold this data for the period of your membership of the organisation/group and will delete it no longer than one year after your membership lapses or within 20 working days if you request it.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter and other marketing materials about the work of the Forum. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
How do we use information gathered from use of our website?
When someone visits the Forum website, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
The Forum may share non-identifiable statistical data gained from our website to inform on our reporting to funders and stakeholders. We do not make, and do not allow any third party to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Access to your information and correction
We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold.
