On 25 September 2018, the Scottish Fair Trade Forum united with 250 organisations around the world to launch the new International Fair Trade Charter.
The Charter sets out the Fair Trade movement's agreed definition and vision of Fair Trade, and the core values which underpin it. It also reiterates the need for Fair Trade and the common approaches that unite individuals, groups and organisations in the Fair Trade movement.
The Charter is a joint document of Fairtrade International and the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), and leaders from both networks were in Edinburgh to celebrate its launch in September 2018. Read more about the launch here.
Globally, the Charter has so far been supported by a diverse range of local, national and international organisations including 18 Scottish-based organisations.
You can also ask your MSP/MP to pledge their support and thank them for doing so. See this page to check if they have pledged their support.
