This is an opportunity to be a director of a new trading subsidiary of a well-established, campaigning charity. We are looking to appoint three directors through this recruitment process.

The Scottish Fair Trade Forum is Scotland’s Fair Trade network seeking to contribute to building a just, equitable and sustainable world by supporting Scotland to remain a vibrant Fair Trade Nation and by working to embed the principles of Fair Trade in all aspects of Scottish society.

In order to strengthen the charity’s financial sustainability, we have established non-grant income sources in recent years, primarily advisory and consultancy services on Fair Trade, ethical purchasing and consumption. We are now in the process of establishing a trading subsidiary to generate income for the Scottish Fair Trade Forum by providing these services to the public, private and third sectors.

We are seeking people to join the initial Board as directors of the new subsidiary. Potential directors will have experience and/or knowledge of some (but not necessarily all) of the following: business with a social mission, charity trading subsidiaries, marketing, provision of consultancy services, financial management, building relationships with customer organisations.

Positions are unpaid.
