Tuesday 23 June 2020
We are aware of the news, announced on Tuesday 23 June, that Nestlé UK & Ireland plan to stop sourcing Fairtrade sugar and cocoa for its KitKats.
In this open letter, cocoa farmers in Côte d'Ivoire have expressed their regret and concern at the changes: "Stopping the relationship with Fairtrade is a silence to our voices," says Atse Ossey Francis on behalf of the Ivorian Fair Trade Network.
Their request is clear: "On behalf of cocoa farmers in Côte d'Ivoire, we ask Nestlé to keep KitKat Fairtrade."
Thursday 25 June
We have now published a statement urging Nestlé to listen to farmers and #KeepKitkatFairtrade. Read our statement and sign the petition.
